Teaching opportunities
One of the best things about a pottery community is sharing the love of clay and learning from each other. Waterbrook offers a robust slate of classes, workshops and special firings to provide opportunities for ongoing learning and enjoyment of all things clay. We welcome prospective instructors from within and outside the Waterbrook community to teach a class or conduct a workshop.
Waterbrook members get first priority registration for all educational offerings, followed by members of the Collar City Clay Guild. If the maximum class size isn’t reached, registration is opened to the public.
Classes (3 weeks or more) - Suggested class size for wheel is 6; hand-building is 8. Registration fees (less non-member surcharge) are split 70/30 between instructor and WPS; non-member surcharges go to WPS. If materials are provided by the instructor, a materials fee may be charged.
Workshops (1 or 2 sessions) - Instructor receives registration fees less non-member surcharges which go to WPS.
Alternative firings (off-site) - We welcome offers from potters with the equipment and willingness to host alternative firings, including wood firing. Registration fees/pricing are set and collected by the host potter.
